Noting TV and Film depictions of journalism. Seeing the word type reflected in successive lines – then moving hem closer together to make pictures. More commonly seen in the media as ‘Editor’ or ‘Private Investigator’ etc. Seeing ‘Type’ written on the window of an office door where it can be seen in reverse from inside the room. Examining the ‘block’ areas of letters in the word Type. Also looking at fundamental collections – letters, words, phrases… fundamental forms (which there may not be!) and two-word phrases that include the word ‘type’ – these may spring to mind when the word TYPE is presented on its own. The heart ♥ character (queen of hearts?) and the idea of ‘Late’ being for a very important date… the copy deadline. An article could be a journey through this strangeness meeting characters (the ¶ Pilrow, for example) and finding situations like the ‘T’ Party (using the word ‘Part’ as in gap between letters… which is kerning).
